BOSTON, MA – The HOPE National Resource Center announces the Fourth Annual HOPE Summit, a two-day event taking place virtually on March 20-21, 2024. The Summit is for all who work in child- and family-serving sectors from medical practice to community organizations, educators and administrative staff and who want to learn more about how positive childhood experiences (PCEs) support children’s growth into healthy, resilient adults. This year’s goal and theme – The HOPE Transformation – is to support organizational transformation and the adoption of the HOPE framework. Summit participants will learn about the newly formed Six Standards of HOPE, a set of standards to help child- and family-serving organizations align their practices with the HOPE framework, and the new HOPE-Informed Organizational Certification program.
“We’re so excited for this year’s Summit as we dive into organizational transformation with HOPE,” says Dina Burstein, MD, MPH, FAAP, Project Director of the HOPE National Resource Center. “Whether you’re new to the framework or have been with us from the start, the 2024 HOPE Summit will offer opportunities to connect with others as you share and absorb lessons learned from HOPE implementation.”
The Summit features keynote presentations by Lenoard Burton, President of the Center for the Study of Social Policy, and Aimee Zeitz, MFT, Regional Director of Strategic Advancement of YMCA San Diego County. Industry leaders in child- and family-serving sectors will also lead interactive workshops showcasing real examples of how they are practicing HOPE in their own work. Participants can create lasting relationships with colleagues from around the country and world from networking opportunities offered throughout the Summit.
In addition to the two-day Summit, the HOPE National Resource Center will release the Week of HOPE, a series of events, resources, and blog posts published during the week of the Summit. The Week of HOPE spreads awareness of the HOPE framework, celebrates the power of PCEs, and shows ways the HOPE framework is used in practice.
Summit participants are encouraged to have an understanding of the HOPE framework and positive childhood experiences. The HOPE National Resource Center will offer a free Introduction to HOPE workshop for all participants prior to the Summit. Additionally, the purchase of a Summit ticket includes free access to the self-paced online course, Spreading HOPE: An Introduction to the HOPE Framework, that introduces the research behind PCEs, the power of the brain to heal, the Four Building Blocks of HOPE, and what HOPE looks like in practice.
About HOPE – Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences
Based at Tufts Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, the HOPE National Resource Center sees a world that honors and promotes positive experiences as necessary for health and well-being. Research shows that positive childhood experiences (PCEs) drive healthy child development and lessen the lifelong effects of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). HOPE aims to inspire a movement that changes how people and organizations advance health and well-being for children, families, and communities.
Director Robert Sege, MD, PHD, FAAP, Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at Tufts University School of Medicine, leads the HOPE National Resource Center.
