After discovering the dearth of quality chiropractic care in India, Dr. Nanda founded the IACD with the mandate of developing the practice in the country. Nearly two decades after its establishment, Dr. Nanda continues the mission of the organization through training programs, dialogues with potential partners, and charitable dispensaries aimed at raising public awareness and appreciation of the practice.

One of the primary goals of the IACD is to professionalise chiropractic in India by way of legislation. To achieve this goal, one of the initiatives announced by Dr. Nanda is the recording of chiropractic activities in the country. This initiative calls on chiropractic students who are taking mission trips to India to first register with the organization before traveling to their destination. This is to ensure their safety and protection while enhancing the credibility of the profession among legislators.
The IACD began after Dr. Nanda, during one of his visits, noticed the lack of chiropractors in India despite the country being known for its various alternative medicine practices. He was then resolved to address this issue through the establishment of the IACD, an organisation aimed at developing chiropractic in India and ensuring proper education and training for chiropractors recognised by the World Federation of Chiropractic.
Dr. Nanda’s efforts were recognised by a number of prestigious chiropractic learning institutions, including Life Chiropractic College West in California, where he now leads as chair. “Dr. Nanda is passionate about using his relationships to bring vitalistic chiropractic to India,” the school said in a statement. “For several years, he has been arranging chiropractic humanitarian trips to India semi-annually and attracting outstanding chiropractic collaborations to benefit the people of India.”

According to Dr. Nanda, the success of IACD’s initiatives will ultimately depend on the cooperation and professional conduct of chiropractic practitioners within and outside the country. “The government recognition that we have been yearning for is a long and arduous process,” he said. “But with your support, I believe that the IACD is on track to achieve this goal on behalf of chiropractics everywhere and those who are aspiring to join our ranks.”
